Comments on the situation in Australia - 'We shall undoubtedly have a protective policy, and there are big questions to be worked out in regard to the opening of the more tropical parts' - '…the Australian working man dislikes both black and yellow men, and if he be not willing to do anything himself, takes good care that no one else shall do it'.
