Content Summary:
In addition to providing statistics on the number of pupils who had emigrated each year, every annual report contained a selection of letters, often slightly edited, from former pupils living in the colonies or America. These reports also include information relating to the pupils home lives, the status of their parents, previous occupations, as well as records of how many disciplinary actions were taken each year. From 1851 to 1871 the full reports have been filmed; after 1871 only the sections comprising letters from emigrants.
