Manuscript account of the establishment and progress of the Church of St Michael and All Angels at Sandakan, North Borneo, 1888-1950

Content Summary:
Reverend William H. Elton (1845-1914) was sent to Sandakan in 1888, a year before North Borneo became a British protectorate. The foundation stone of the church was laid by the Governor in 1893 and it was dedicated in 1898. Elton and his wife remained at Sandakan until 1913. The first part of the manuscript ends in 1914 and it is resumed, in a different hand, in 1925. (88pp.)
