"I am painting since I was a boy, painting my country, my totems, painting my special waterhole, Milmildjarrk, that one made by the Djangkawu sisters with their digging stick. We sing and dance Milmildjarrk in our ceremonies. And I paint the story of Gurrumurringu the great hunter. That one they call 'dollar note' painting because it was printed on the one-dollar note. It shows the mortuary rites for the great hunter, Gurrumurringu, who was killed by Dharpa, the evil snake." - David Malangi
