Shelter at Kalobidada ranged from simple bark shades to enclosed bark huts and the platform version used by Mandarg and his family. The platform hut is cooler in the dry season and drier in the wet season. An additional advantage is that smouldering logs kindled beneath the platform help eliminate at least some of the mosquitoes, 1970s
