The recipients include Bishop W.L. Williams, Reverend A.F. Williams, Bishop W.G. Cowie, Bishop O. Hadfield, Bishop E.C. Stuart, Reverend R. Burrows, Reverend J. McWilliam, Archdeacon E. Clarke, Reverend G. Maunsell and Reverend W. Goodyear. The letters deal with the establishment and work of the New Zealand Mission Board, the training of Maoris for the ministry, grants, stipends and other financial matters, the control of Church Missionary Society's missionaries in New Zealand, visits of missionaries to England, the retirement and deaths of missionaries, and the cessation of the Society's responsibilities in New Zealand in 1914.
