'Commencement of a systematic enumeration of the plants collected on Captain Cook's first voyage 1768-1771' (33 leaves)
- Component identifier:
- File 20
- Content Summary:
-
This manuscript includes transcriptions of plants from all the collecting localities on the Endeavour voyage that come within Classis I of the Linnaean System (Monandria Monogyna) and for some of the plants in Classis II (Diandria Monogyna). It is in the handwriting of Daniel Solander, Sigismund Bacstrom, and Jonas Dryander.
Probably a complete enumeration was envisaged for all of the plants collected on Cook's first voyage but it was never completed. Marshall (1978) notes that Britten wrote the word Java on the title page as he misinterpreted this manuscript as being concerned only with the plants of Java.
