This series contains a volume of editorials from the Daily Telegraph, 1957 to 1959, and five folders of cuttings of Daily Telegraph editorials, 1962 to 1970. While not a complete set, there are a considerable number for the periods 1958 to 1959 and 1962 to 1969. Also included in the series are cuttings from the Daily Telegraph of Slessor's weekly column 'Footnotes' (May 1970 to June 1971), in which he discussed new books and various aspects of literature and publishing, mainly Australian.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The papers of the poet and journalist Kenneth Slessor were offered to the National Library by his brother Robin Slessor, executor of the will, after his death in 1971. The National Library purchased the papers in 1972. Eight additional consignments of papers received by the Library between 1979 and 2000 were variously purchased from Robin Slessor, Paul Slessor and Peter Elder.
