- This series consists of studio portraits, other professional photographs and photographs taken by van Praagh or her friends. Many of the early photographs are of family, friends and holidays. There are numerous photographs of van Praagh at different stages in her life. They range from a performance of her in The swan at the age of 10, to individual studio portraits and photographs taken at special commemorative events with friends. Many of the photographs contain captions, especially those in the albums. Others have been identified by van Praagh, with annotations on the back of the photograph or on the envelope.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The papers were donated to the National Library in four instalments in 1986, 1995, 1999 and 2001. The original instalment was donated by Peggy van Praagh. The additional instalments were forwarded by the executors of her estate.
