Diaries and travel journals, 1966-1986
- Component identifier:
- Series 8
- Content Summary:
-
Crome's travel journals, describing activities, sites visited, impressions, flights and weather. Letters, photographs and ephemera such as tickets and postcards are inserted.
The non-travel diaries include entries for most days, covering collecting activities and appointments, and include inserts such as letters, photographs, first day covers, business cards and newspaper cuttings.
The earliest diary is 1970. It is unknown whether Crome wrote diaries in the earlier part of his life, or whether they were not retained.
Some inserts are loose, and the diaries and journals require careful handling to retain them in place. The series has been arranged chronologically.
The series relates closely to Series 12, which includes photographs and travel documents relating to trips documented in the journals.
