Box of loose photographs relating to aviation. While some photographs are original, there are also photographic copy prints and published pictures.

Most photographs are attached to descriptive cards with subject descriptions. These subject captions include:

Aviation - PlanesAviation - First flight Lancastrian Mail PlaneAviation - Portraits

The portaits include P J McGuinness and Hudson Fysh, D Smith, Ross and Keith Smith, and several unidentified portraits. Also includes photographs of monuments to Ross Smith in Darwin and Adelaide; and two sets of collectible cigarette cards on early planes and balloons.

Some original photographs have been transferred to the Pictures collection, E.A Crome collection of photographs on aviation, call number PIC 3394. Photographic copy prints of removed photographs have been retained in this box, however captions have not been retained with the copy prints. Photographs in the Pictures collection are catalogued individually on the online catalogue.
