Content Summary:
Papers relate to Street's work for the Status of Women Commission (SWC). Included is correspondence, a draft agenda for the third session of the SWC, reports on resolutions of the SWC, and a proposal for the formation of a Division on the Status of Women. There are also papers relating to a questionnaire designed by Street with a view to preparing a booklet reporting on the position of women and discriminations and inequalities which effect them.
Immediate source of acquisition:
Jessie Street's husband, Sir Kenneth Street, donated the papers to the National Library in 1970. Her son, Sir Laurence Street, made a substantial addition in 1972. Further small additions were made to the collection between 1973 and 2001.
