Clark received the A. Charles Holland Foundation International Award for the pioneering research and development of the first clinically successfully cochlear implant. It has had a major impact on audiology, auditory rehabilitation and otology in general. It was presented at the International Otolaryngological Society Meeting in Rome on the 26th of June, 2005, and is regarded as the major international prize for work in this field.
