Content Summary:

Kent Hughes kept diaries most of his life and many of them have been transcribed. The series comprises the original diaries, typescripts of some of the diaries and miscellaneous notebooks.

Kent Hughes had kept the typescript of 'A diary of the American trip of the Oxford-Cambridge Track Team 6.7.21 to 12.8.21' with his Oxford papers (Series 5/ File 23). The diaries of Kent Hughes' visit to the Far East in 1958 are in Series 14/ Files 18-19 and 22.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The collection was donated to the National Library, in several instalments between 1973 and 1991, by Lady Kent Hughes and her daughters, Mrs Janet Derham, Mrs Margaret Sasse and Dr Mary Lou Sheil.
