The series comprises handwritten drafts, typescript and roneoed copies, as well as cuttings, of Kent Hughes' speeches. Some of the speeches were kept in files and have been either arranged in chronological order or according to subjects. These arrangements have been preserved by the Library.
Drafts of radio broadcasts, which were filed with the speeches, can be found in File 22.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The collection was donated to the National Library, in several instalments between 1973 and 1991, by Lady Kent Hughes and her daughters, Mrs Janet Derham, Mrs Margaret Sasse and Dr Mary Lou Sheil.
