Content Summary:
Through out his life, Kent Hughes wrote a great number of stories, essays, articles and poems, but most of them were not published. The series comprises handwritten manuscripts and typescripts of his writings. For papers relating to his published book, Slaves of the samurai, see Series 8.
Immediate source of acquisition:
The collection was donated to the National Library, in several instalments between 1973 and 1991, by Lady Kent Hughes and her daughters, Mrs Janet Derham, Mrs Margaret Sasse and Dr Mary Lou Sheil.
