Kent Hughes wrote many letters to his wife while he was in the POW camps and on his overseas visits. Some of the letters have been transcribed and, in some cases, the Library only holds the transcripts.
The series also includes letters of condolence, cuttings of obituaries and tributes to Kent Hughes.

- The collection was donated to the National Library, in several instalments between 1973 and 1991, by Lady Kent Hughes and her daughters, Mrs Janet Derham, Mrs Margaret Sasse and Dr Mary Lou Sheil.
