C.S.I.R.O. and Royal Park Psychiatric Hospital, 1951-1996

Content Summary:
This series includes two letters relating to Andrews' employment at C.S.I.R.O., but the remainder consists of correspondence, notes, research material and Andrews' own articles on research into the effects of bromide and lithium in the treatment of psychiatric patients that she conducted as Senior Biochemist at Royal Park Psychiatric Hospital in Melbourne in the 1960s-70s. The research material includes articles published between 1943 and 1999.
Immediate source of acquisition:
Shirley Andrews bequeathed her papers to Wendy Lowenstein and Lucy Stockdale. The papers were purchased by the Library from Lowenstein and Stockdale in 2002 and 2003 respectively. The audio-visual material held in the Oral History Section was received in 2005 from Stockdale.
