Content Summary:
This series consists largely of photocopies of journal articles and book extracts on dancing, reminiscences of dancing in Australia in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and the social background to dancing. Australian authors include John Manifold, Peter Ellis, Keith McKenry, Harry McQueen, Phil Leggett, Marilyn Colman and Heather Clarke. Material which was in files has been placed in files in the order in which it was received.
Immediate source of acquisition:
Shirley Andrews bequeathed her papers to Wendy Lowenstein and Lucy Stockdale. The papers were purchased by the Library from Lowenstein and Stockdale in 2002 and 2003 respectively. The audio-visual material held in the Oral History Section was received in 2005 from Stockdale.
