This series contains mainly correspondence relating to Andrews' dance activities, including her roles as organiser of festivals and events, researcher, writer and advisor on dance instructions. Correspondents include Ron Edwards, Rob Willis, Con Klippel, Warren Fahey, Mark and Maria Schuster, Jan and Vic Orloff, John Meredith and Heather Clarke. There is also a single letter from Dame Peggy van Praagh (1973) in response to a suggestion by Andrews regarding a traditional dance-inspired ballet production, and one from Alan Marshall about yarn-spinning.

- Immediate source of acquisition:
- Shirley Andrews bequeathed her papers to Wendy Lowenstein and Lucy Stockdale. The papers were purchased by the Library from Lowenstein and Stockdale in 2002 and 2003 respectively. The audio-visual material held in the Oral History Section was received in 2005 from Stockdale.
