Alphabetical Subject Files

Component identifier:
Series 4
Content Summary:
These files are arranged alphabetically using their original titles. This means that there are many inconsistencies - for example some files under Melbourne and some under Victoria, Melbourne - so it may be necessary to scan all the file titles to ensure that all papers on a given topic have been discovered. There is also considerable overlap with other series - for example publicity and reviews within or attached to subject files might more properly appear in Series 6. In some cases, the dates on the file title do not correspond with the contents, and this is noted in the list. At the end of the series (Box 41) there are several unnamed/unidentified items. Many of the files no longer in use by HVDT were wrapped in brown paper parcels with the contents listed on the outside, and these original wrappings are also in a folder at the end of the series.
