Manuscript scores, 1941-2001
- Component identifier:
- Series 9
- Content Summary:
-
This series consists of Sculthorpe's manuscript scores. The juvenile works, marked with 'J' numbers, are all that survive from 1941 to 1944. They are followed by three unnumbered additional student items then a list of works from 1945 to 1992, compiled by Deborah Hayes. The latter are marked with 'W' numbers. The list of 'W' numbers was continued by Sculthorpe after 1992. For an index of works by genre and by title, please refer to Deborah Hayes, Peter Sculthorpe: a bio-bibliography (1993). This publication also includes more information on works numbered W1-W224.
Prior to February 2007, most of the files containing works W271-W304 inclusive were labelled with numbers incorrect by one digit (eg W271 Tailitnama Song instead of W272 Tailitnama Song as it is recorded in the list below). This discrepancy has been rectified on Sculthorpe's advice.
There are a number of scores which have not been received. Only those scores which have been received have been listed.
