Content Summary:

Presentation copy inscribed: "To J.K. for Xmas, 1941, Shaw Neilson."

Accompanying this is Neilson's letter sending the item to J.K. Moir: "Dear J.K. I enclose a relic. It is about as bad as most prize poems are...J.S. Neilson". This letter had been written for the poet by Phil Whelan, with whom he was staying at Dee Why.

The letter, however, is signed by Neilson. Inserted also is a typewritten record by Phil Whelan: "Shaw Neilson at Dee Why for Christmas 1941". Neilson spent some time at Dee Why after his return from Queensland.
