A brochure, 4to, prepared by Thomas Dixon Pty. Ltd., Crown Street, Sydney, for the funeral of Christopher John Brennan, aged 36 years, the elder son of Chris: Brennan.
The funeral left the Parlors on Monday, 18th May, 1942 for the Eastern Suburbs Crematorium. After a service by the Rev. A.R.B. Morrisby, of the St. Matthew's Church of England, Botany, the deceased was cremated.
This is a very cheerful brochure issued as a memento of a very melancholy event. The cover is in two colours, whilst the brochure itself is held together with a brightly coloured corded silk, with tassel.
The hymns to be sung at the service are printed, also Tennyson's poem, "Why". Spaces are provided for the names of relatives and friends in attendance, also provision for brief record of the life of the deceased, and also his photograph.
Both Brennan's sons received portion of their education at Sydney Church of England Grammar School, North Sydney. They were school-mates of Kenneth Slessor, and his brother Robert.
