Maps and Expedition Records

Component identifier:
Series 4
Content Summary:

The map component of this series comprises eight hand-written 'mud-maps'; 11 published maps (from the late 19th and earlier 20th centuries) on regions of central, Northern and Western Australia; and four more recent general maps. Most of the earlier published maps are geological sketch maps compiled by explorers such as W.H. Tietkens, A. A. Davidson and A. Gibb Maitland.

Terry expedition records include 1928 height measurements, a list of native names in the Musgrave and Tomkinson Ranges, and height measurements from the 1933 Hidden Basin expedition.

Also included in this series are regional reports and accounts of other inland expeditions, comprising 12 publishing booklets (including proceedings of societies and government reports) from 1889 to 1933. This material was kept as reference material by Terry, and not written by him. (See Detailed Series Inventory)
