This series contains papers relating to libraries generally, rather than the Commonwealth Parliamentary Library or the National Library. There are letters from several librarians, especially Jean Whyte, who worked with Fleming at the National Library and was later Professor of Librarianship at Monash University. There are also papers relating to the Ellinor Archer Award, which was presented to Fleming in 1989. The Award recognised the outstanding contribution to the profession of someone working within libraries but who was not eligible for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
The correspondents include R.L. Cope, John Vaughan, Harrison Bryan, Jean Whyte, Dianne Reilly and Peter Judge.
