Included are lecture notes, personal and professional correspondence, ephemera, family letters, notebooks and appointment diaries (1931-1993). There are notes and correspondence relating to Australian history projects, Fitzhardinge's final thesis on Roman fleets, photographs and negatives, illustrations and draft manuscripts of The Spartans.

- The original consignment was received by the Library from L. F. Fitzhardinge in 1975. One folder was added to the collection in 1998 via Pauline Fanning. The second consignment was received by the Library from G. F. Fitzhardinge in 2022.
