- The main authors of these papers are the District Commissioner, New Britain (J. K. McCarthy) and other district officials, the Acting Director DDSNA (a> A. Roberts) and the Administrator. They also include the originals of number of petitions to the Administrator (with dozen of signatures) from different groups of residents of the Gazelle, in June 1953, deploring the Raluana violence of May and supporting McCarthy: and the original of DMF's letter to the Administrator enclosing his protest to Roberts about aspects of the conduct of the latter's inquiry into that episode, and copy of the Administrator's reply to DMF (original in item 240)
