Creyke served during the Second World War as a County Agricultural Officer under the County War Agricultural Executive Committees, and until 1954 in the successor body, the County Agricultural Committees. The committees were responsible for implementing the British Government’s agricultural policy at the county level. In 1952 Creyke was invited by the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) to participate in a mission to Italy to boost production and processing in the dairy industry as part of the postwar reconstruction program.
The series comprises correspondence relating to employment transfers, Lancashire County Agricultural Executive Committee minutes (1949), a photograph, newspaper cuttings and correspondence and reports relating to the 1952 FAO program in Italy, 1951-52.

- The papers were donated to the Library by Creyke’s son, Peter Creyke, in 1990.
