Content Summary:
In 1990 Singer took legal action against anti-vivisection campaigner Hans Ruesch for his allegation that Singer 'works hand in glove with Dr Judith Hampson and the entire UK vivisection establishment'. Ruesch lost the case but appealed and continued to attack Singer in his magazine Civis. The papers include copies of Ruesch's articles, legal representations and Singer's correspondence with his lawyer Ranieri Broggo and others, responses (many hostile) to the dispute, press releases, published articles and issues of Civis.

The papers were donated by Professor Singer in 1999 under the Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme [Cultural Gifts Program]
