In his later years Dix kept some of his personal correspondence in a concertina file, arranged alphabetically. The letters, and also a few notes and cuttings, have been retained in this order.
The correspondents include Barry Cohen, Peter Coleman, Gordon Darling, J.K. Ellis, Sir William Heseltine, Justice Michael Kirby, H.E. Maude, Tom McVeigh, Nancy Phelan, Peter Ryan, Gordon Samuels, Sir Ninian Stephen, Sir Ian Turbott and E.V. Wright.
