Content Summary:
This consignment chiefly comprises papers accumulated separately by Lister and Edna Hopkins during the course of their careers. There is extensive correspondence, both family and business, including a number of letters written while on various postings, providing a picture of life in the British colonies of the time. There are also the diaries of Lister Hopkins, narrative in style, from his time in Palestine, Jamaica, Lebanon and following his retirement, together with a number of subject files he created. Also included are early family history papers relating to a biography written by Lister Hopkins of his father titled, Francis Lister Hopkins 1878-1926.
