- Content Summary:
- No. 4, Sleep, was written in 1992 at the request of Dick Letts, who asked each composer receiving a Sounds Australian Award that year to write a one-page piece to be sung by the Song Company at the presentation ceremony. It was too short to be included in a concert programme, so Roland Peelman suggested I set a few more of Kathleen Raine's short poems for a 2001 commission. Sleep was very slightly expanded.
