Miscellaneous letters, 1920-1938

Component identifier:
Series 3
Content Summary:
The series contains letters to Scott relating mainly to such subjects as the arrangement for his trips overseas, his offer to resign from the University in 1932, and the personal help that he gave the many of his students. The letters are arranged chronologically, with undated letters placed last.
Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers of Sir Ernest and Lady Scott, together with a small number of books, were presented to the Library in 1958 by Miss Diana Dyason, Lady Scott's niece. They had been examined by Lady Scott in 1956, the year before her death, and many items carry her explanatory notes.
