The pamphlets, journals and cuttings which constitute Series 5 are evidence of Scott's attempts to popularise Australian history. At the same time Scott's work appeared in historical journals and the series includes issue of the Victorian Historical Magazine and the Journal and Proceedings of the Royal Australian Historical Society. Several newspaper articles by Sir Isaac Isaacs, and a scrapbook of cuttings from the Bulletin for 1890-1894 have also been placed with Series 5.
