Content Summary:

The photographs relate to the years before Lady Scott was married in 1915, and to the years following her husband's death in 1939. The former group contains many family group photographs of the Dyasons, photographs of Lady Scott's sister Amy, her brother Edward, and her father, as well as photographs from her student days at the Conservatorium. The remainder consists of photographs taken during her trips to Bendigo, London, and the United States, and driving visits from friends at her home Vermont, Melbourne. Her passport photograph for 1940 is also included. Many of the photographs carry explanatory notes added by Lady Scott before the collection was transferred to the Library.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers of Sir Ernest and Lady Scott, together with a small number of books, were presented to the Library in 1958 by Miss Diana Dyason, Lady Scott's niece. They had been examined by Lady Scott in 1956, the year before her death, and many items carry her explanatory notes.
