Content Summary:
Administrative correspondence relating to the coordination of the Youth Carnival for Peace and Friendship, held in Liverpool and Sydney, Mar 15-23, 1952. Organised by the National Executive of the EYL, the Carnival incorporated arts, dance, sports, politcal and social programs and events. It was opposed by the Menzies Government. Two lever arch folders of correspondence representing mail 'inwards' and 'outwards' have been decanted into smaller folders as the condition of the original lever arch files had deteroriated and also because the papers are fragile. An index to the arrangement of the correspondence within alphabetical dividers is located in the first folder of each group. The correspondence has been kept in the order in which it was originally filed.
