This series comprises printed material consisting of books, pamphlets and journals belonging to Ross and his father, Robert Ross. Included are works by Charles Dickens, Jack London, H. G. Wells and numerous works by G. D. H Cole on socialism, labour and industry. Many of the books contain inscriptions and annotations and were gifts from friends or acquaintances.
While the majority of works fall under the subject category of economics, labour and socialism there are some works of biography, fiction and poetry. Some of them were Christmas presents to Lloyd Ross from his mother.
This series comprises 17 boxes.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The papers were purchased from Lloyd Ross by the National Library in three instalments in 1974, 1979 and 1982. Further instalments were received after his death, in 1988 and 1991.
