Various papers relating to the New Australia and Cosme colonies which were established in Paraguay by William Lane in 1892. They include a copy of Evening Notes written by Mary Cameron (later Mary Gilmore) in 1893 and copies of Cosme Monthly (1895) and Cosme (1901, 1903). There are also photographs of the colonies and other items of ephemera. The file also contains an article on William Lane and press cuttings on Mary Gilmore (1945, 1950) which were added to the file at a later date by Lloyd Ross

- The papers were purchased from Lloyd Ross by the National Library in three instalments in 1974, 1979 and 1982. Further instalments were received after his death, in 1988 and 1991.
