The League was set up in Washington in 1946 and was an attempt to establish an international league designed to maintain co-operative relations among the lawyers of the United Nations. Eggleston was elected a deputy Vice-President, and the series contains its constitution and his correspondence with R.J. McArthur, Heher Rice, David Maughan, Ralph Harry and John Oldham in the 1946-1949 period.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were received from the family of Sir Frederic Eggleston after his death in 1954.
