Note: the copies described here are thought to be the only surviving documentation of the Baylebridge correspondence. Hugh Anderson was given access to the original letters by Mrs Garran Brown, sister to Baylebridge. Anderson was permitted to borrow the file. He had typescript copies prepared and returned the file to Mrs Brown who subsequently died. Anderson has made enquiries about the letters since but they appear to have disappeared.
