On his return from China in 1977, Hugh Anderson began researching Australia's involvement in the Boxer Rebellion of 1900. He traced the day to day reports of two journalists, George Wynne and John Wallace, who went to China as war correspondents for the Daily Telegraph and Sydney Morning Herald. As yet, this work has not been published.
The series consists of correspondence, draft chapters, paste-up copies, draft bibliography, notes, photocopies of letters and newspaper reports. The main correspondents are W. Wynne, M. Wallace and Gavin Souter.
