Frank the poet; the life and works of Francis MacNamara, 1966-1989

Component identifier:
Subseries 48_2
Content Summary:
Frank the poet by John Meredith and Rex Whalan was published by Red Rooster Press in 1979. Francis MacNamara was an Irish convict known as 'Frank the poet' by his fellow convicts in New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land in the 1830s and 1840s. Over the years much of his work has been lost or he has been credited with works by other convicts poets. John Meredith and Rex Whalan have, in this publication, managed to collect all the works attributed to him and provide the first documented account of his time in New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land.
