Content Summary:
The wild colonial boy by John Meredith was published by Red Rooster Press in 1982. This book is about the Irish convict and bushranger Jack Donohoe (1806-1830) who was transported to Australia in 1825. Two years later he escaped into the bush and he eluded police for another three years before he was killed in 1830. Through his exploits as a bushranger, Donahoe became a folk hero and his name lives on in legend and song. The most well known of these is 'The wild colonial boy'.
