- Duke of the outback by John Meredith was published by Red Rooster Press in 1983. This book is about Croydon 'Duke' Tritton (1886-1965) a shearer, outback worker and songster of the bush. He frequently performed songs that he had learned in the bush and songs that he wrote himself. Of his own songs, 'Shearing in a bar' is one of the best known.
