- Jackson was appointed Chairman of the Committee which was set up by the Australian Government in late 1982. Its purpose was to prepare a report for the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the future directions and form of Australian aid program. The Jackson Report was tabled in the House of Representatives by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bill Hayden, in June 1984. The papers include a copy of the Jackson Report, correspondence and cuttings. The correspondents are Bill Hayden, A.A. Street, Peter Crawley and June Verrier.
