- Personal and family papers of McGuire including a letter by John O'Sullivan to his wife (1878), a school certificate (1915), an army service book, passports, a diary of Mary O'Sullivan (1920), material relating to McGuire's promotion to the honourary rank of Commander (Special Branch) in 1959 and his appointment as CBE (1951), McGuire's will and a transcript of an oral history interview.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The collection was donated to the Library by Frances McGuire in 1980, 1984 and 1993. A small quantity of material from the 1980 instalment was purchased by the Library. Paul McGuire destroyed parts of his papers (particularly relating to the 1939-45 War) shortly before his death.
