C Williamson Theatres Ltd., to undertake the establishment of a permanent national ballet. The Australian Ballet was formed in 1962, beginning its first season at Her Majesty's Theatre, Sydney, on November 2, 1962. Correspondents include Edouard Borovansky, Peggy van Praagh, Hugh Hunt, Professor Joseph Burke, Dr H. C Coombs, Laurel Martyn, John McCallum, Sir Frank Tait, and Bill Judges.
Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were purchased from Geoffrey Ingram by the National Library in several instalments between 1987 and 1993. Two further additions were donated by Ingram in 1997 and 1998.
