David Garnsey had a lifelong interest in the ASCM at both local and national levels.
He was travelling secretary of the ASCM, 1930-31, and General-Secretary, 1945-48.
Included in the papers are correspondence, newspaper clippings, and addresses to the ASCM conference at the University of Queensland, July 1941, by speakers Garnsey and Dr T.Z. Koo, representative of the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF); addresses to ASCM or about ASCM/WSCF when Garnsey was General-Secretary (1945-48); papers on ASCM, 1948-74, including correspondence from Douglas Hobson, General-Secretary 1962, to Bishop E.H. Burgmann and Archbishop H.R. Gough; an article by Garnsey 'Can Europe rise again?' (1948); 'The life of the church in the Australian University' (ASCM 1958); handwritten and typescript evening prayers for the ASCM conference,1960; a pamphlet on the aims, basis and membership of the ASCM (n.d.).
