Files assembled by Garnsey when writing his biography of his father Canon Arthur Garnsey (1872-1944), published by Kingsdale Press, Sydney, 1985. There are files on the history of the Garnsey family, Arthur Garnsey's parents, boyhood and ordination, St Paul's College, Sydney University, Church and public affairs, thought and theology, death, and Kingsdale Press and the publication of the biography. Some of Arthur Garnsey's letters are included, but the bulk of the material is notes, cuttings and correspondence of David Garnsey in the 1970s.

The files on the whole have been kept intact, but the sequence rearranged.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were donated to the Library by Bishop Garnsey in 1991.
